My internship with La Terraza del Cristina and Local Food Experiences

As an LAIB student at Clemson, one of my graduation requirements was to hold an internship with an international company.

I was lucky enough to fulfill this requirement while studying abroad in Seville, Spain during the Spring semester of 2024. In addition to taking courses, I spent 20 hours a week working as an International Marketing Intern for 2 local companies who partner with one another to create unique and culturally-enriching gastronomical experiences for tourists.

La Terraza del Cristina and Local Food Experiences work together to put on a variety of experiences and excursions, such as a Paella Showcooking and a Sangria Tasting, so that people visiting Seville can experience some of the traditional foods and beverages, while also learning about the rich history of Andalusia.

During my internship, one of my main responsibilities was booking management. I was in charge of creating company profiles on several booking platforms to expand our reach to a larger audience and increase sales. I also had the responsibility of cross-checking reservations on the different platforms with our master calendar. Additionally, I worked with the other interns to expand marketing efforts and create a more accessible and enjoyable experience for all of our customers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Marketing Intern for this company, and I learned so much about myself as a professional, as well as the cultural differences in the workplace in different countries.
